It starts in Salzburg! The fourth largest city in Austria hosts the world-famous festival, which has a year-round influence on the city’s cultural diversity. Incidentally, the baroque old town is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site!
The first stage of the tour is already sensational! Over the tranquil Holzöstersee you go to the Trumer Lake District including Obertrumer See, Mattsee and Grabensee. Mondsee, Attersee and/or Traunsee? You will be spoiled for choice as to where you want to cool off. The charming towns on the tour include Gmunden, Hallstatt, Bad Ischl and St. Wolfgang. Soak up the nature along the route when you cycle past the Zinkenbachklamm, the Aurach Valley or the lakesides.

The Getreidegasse in Salzburg is not only the birthplace of one of the most famous Austrians – Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. It is also a wonderful place to marvel, stroll and people watch. The artistic guild shop signs whisk you away into the history of the place, its shops and craftsmen. The pretty inner courtyards and through houses show the special architecture of this place, where traditional shops alternate with international boutiques.
The turquoise green Attersee is the largest lake in the Austrian Alps and is often referred to as the ‘Caribbean of the Salzkammergut’. Whether it’s a swim in the waves, a dive or a boat trip, pure relaxation awaits!
The Hallstatt World Heritage Site: Small but mighty! With 746 inhabitants, Hallstatt is small, but the village has a lot to offer. A beautiful lake, picturesque town centre, historic ossuary and impressive ‘Skywalk’ are just a few examples.
The panorama from the Schafberg on Lake Wolfgang is probably one of the best in the entire Salzkammergut.You can also taste a culinary delicacy in the ‘Himmelspforte’. That’s the refuge on the summit of the mountain.

The start and end of the cycle tour are in beautiful Salzburg. The daily stages are designed for sporty cyclists and are between 60 and 85km long. Flat cycle paths and side roads lead along lakes and alternate with hilly areas.
through extensive floodplain forests on to Tittmoning. From here on the "Naturerlebnisweg (Nature discovery trail) Unterer Inn" to Burghausen. A magnificent old town and the largest castle complex in Central Europe are the most outstanding features of this town. Then continue to the Lake Holzöster.
On the third day, the tour will lead you along the banks of Lake Obertrum to Seekirchen and on the cycle path around Lake Wallersee to Henndorf and Eugendorf. Cycle over deep-green meadows to Thalgau and further on to Lake Mondsee.
Gorgeous cycle paths lead you along Lake Mondsee and Lake Attersee Afterwards, you will cycle through the Aurachtal valley to Lake Traunsee with Gmunden (castle Orth, ceramics factory), Altmünster (bicycle museum), and Traunkirchen ("Fishermen’s Pulpit").
Cycle along the river Traun via Bad Ischl to Lake Hallstätter See. Later, you will continue along the lake to Hallstatt ("the loveliest lakeside location in the world", the oldest salt mine). Again you will pass Bad Ischl (Emperor’s Park, Emperor’s Villa, Empress Sissi’s Teahouse) on your way to Lake Wolfgangsee: You will cycle through places such as St. Wolfgang (White Horse Inn, parish church, cog railway on to the Schafberg), Strobl, Lake Abersee (Zinkenbachklamm gorge) and St. Gilgen - the Mozart village on Lake Wolfgangsee.
On the seventh day, you will follow the cycle route to St. Gilgen ("Mozart Village"), and on to the deep blue Fuschlsee and Tiefbrunnau. From there past the Hintersee lake, and the Strubklamm gorge into the Wiestal valley (dam). From Hallein on the Tauern cycle path to Salzburg. Shortly before reaching Salzburg, it is worth visiting the castle Schloss Hellbrunn (park, zoo, water games). Your destination is the festival and Mozart city of Salzburg with its numerous attractions (fortress, old town).
On the banks of the lakes and at the river Salzach, the routes are completely flat. In between, the terrain is mainly hilly. Depending on the option chosen, approximately one third of the route is on cycle paths and almost all the rest is through fields and on forest paths, farm roads, and quiet side roads. There are only a few short sections on roads with more traffic.

Es war eine sehr schöne Tour. Hotel Traunsee top. Pension und Gasthof sauber aber veraltet. tour Attersee-Traunsee war nicht ganz so gut ausgeschildert und man bekommt nur einmal die Möglichkeit was zu trinken zu kaufen.
