Cycle tours in Copenhagen
What city could be better for a cycling holiday than Copenhagen? None, because the city has held the title of "most bicycle-friendly city in the world" since 2015. All of Copenhagen rides a bike. Commuters in particular rely on bicycles, because a total of 65 percent of the way to work or school is done by bike. That's more people than commute by bike in the entire USA, for example. Well-developed cycle paths separated from road traffic are part of the reason for this. The climate in Denmark
Its special location between the North Sea and the Baltic Sea gives Denmark a mild climate, regulated by the two seas. The flat land in turn ensures that it rains relatively little compared to Central Europe - the amount is about ten percent less than the German average. For cycling, this is of course just as pleasant as the moderate temperatures, which vary between about 2 degrees daytime in winter and 20 degrees in midsummer. In addition, the flat land is ideal for a leisurely cycle between the larger towns.
Danish cuisine
Since Denmark is a peninsula and has many harbour towns, fishing has developed into a significant economic factor. However, the fish are not only exported worldwide, but are also found on the domestic menu. A typical fish dish of the Danes is torsk, in English cod, with boiled potatoes and mustard sauce. But the absolute classic is the so-called smørrebrød, the impressive open sandwiches. Whether with butter, herring and egg yolk or salmon and dill, there are no limits to creativity when it comes to toppings. Meat lovers will also get their money's worth in Denmark, with numerous hot dog carts waiting on the Danish streets with hot bon appétit!
