The highlights of the cycle tour at a glance
Murnauer Moos: On day three you cycle through the largest moorland in Central Europe, the Murnauer Moos nature reserve. As you make your way through the unspoiled landscape you can let your mind rund wild and simply enjoy the scenery. When you arrive in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the Eurobike team recommends a ride on the Zugspitzbahn at 2,962 metres. You will be impressed!
Bad Tölz: Visit the location of the famous German TV show 'Der Bulle von Tölz'. Scenic landscapes and the Isarwinkel with its crystal clear, turquoise-blue water line the cycle path to Bad Tölz. A special feature are the richly deocrated town houses and the film set of the now legendary crime series where Otfried Fischer starred as a police investigator.
Bavarian beer in the Hofbräuhaus: It would really be a shame not to have visited the famous Hofbräuhaus in Munich. And then relax in the beautiful Roomers Hotel in Munich. Luxury!

Welcome briefing and bike fitting. The capital city of Bavaria is awaiting you and invites you to visit its many attractions (English Garden, Town Hall, Hofbräuhaus,…)
From Munich, the tour starts with a bike ride through Forstenrieder Park to Lake Starnberg. Then you will cycle on the lakeside road to Seeshaupt. You will continue on wonderful ways through rustic Bavarian towns, past the Osterseen lakes and Lake Riegsee to Murnau am Staffelsee.
First, you will cycle through the natural reserve called Murnauer Moos (largest swamp area of Central Europe). Later, you will continue your tour through unspoiled nature following the River Loisach to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The stage is intentionally brief. Therefore, there is still enough time for an individual trip with the Zugspitzbahn, a mountain railway. At an altitude of 2962 meters, you will have a wonderful view of the Alps.
By bike you cycle from Garmisch Partenkirchen via Klais to the beautiful Barmsee. Afterwards you have the option of cycling directly to your overnight accomodation or taking a detour via Mittenwald and Scharnitz to the source of Isar. A total of 300 metres in altitude are covered to Scharnitz, from there slightly uphill through wild and romantiv gorges and lush alpine meadows to the source of the Isar. Afterwards, you will cycle back through a sunny valley where you will have a marvellous panoramic view of the mountains of Karwendel and Wettersteingebirge, passing Mittenwald and finally arriving in Wallgau – a place where the Bavarian tradition is still a part of everyday life.
Passing the Isarwinkel, you will follow the crystal-clear, turquoise waters of the impressive Lake Sylvenstein. Cycling through charming landscapes, you will pass Lenggries and finally arrive in Bad Tölz. The location at the crossroads of two trade routes - the River Isar and the old salt route from Reichenhall to Allgäu - quickly became a thriving trading centre. The ornate mansions testify the golden age.
The Isar bike way leads you from Bad Tölz over Geretsried and Wolfratshausen directly to Grünwald. After a few short climbs you will arrive back in Bavaria’s state capital Munich, where you can explore its countless sights and attractions.

Great cycle tour with beautiful scenery and quiet paths
Second time on this tour after 13 years and it didn’t disappoint. Opted for the ‘with charm’ option which gave excellent results in Wallgau (a brewery) and Garmisch (Staudacherhof - one of the best hotels we’ve ever visited). The Roomers hotel in Munich was also very cool and a break from the other traditional hotels. The route has a longish first day which means you sadly miss spending much time by the lakes but you can still enjoy the scenery as you pedal along. The other days are much better for time to sightsee and enjoy the many places to eat and drink along the way. Make sure to make a stop for the included Weisswurst second breakfast one morning (the voucher used to include Weissbier as well but sadly no longer). All the paths used are easily followed (we gave up on the app and just used the road book). They are amazingly quiet and even the short stretches of road used have minimal traffic. If you are reasonably fit there is no need for e-bikes although you will get fed up of them passing you on the very few minor hills! Sadly the train connection from Garmisch no longer runs so that day has a bit of a slog out of town. This also means you don’t get as long to explore the path along the Isar river but you will see plenty of it on the way to Bad Tolz. Overall a super bike tour and glad we did it again - we will be back for a 3rd trip one day.

Munich Lakes Tour
Our first European bike tour and we could not have been happier. The Munich Lakes area was beautiful. Rides were almost entirely on picturesque bike paths or empty country roads which were safe and relaxing. The App worked perfectly and the bikes were new and good quality. We were really impressed with Eurobike's attention to the small details. Can't wait till the next trip!

Bavaria- Land of mountains and water
I have never seen such crystal clear turquoise water in the rivers. Taking a break by the water was mesmerizing. The countryside was wide open. Roaming hills with beautiful bike trails made this trip a joy. The small towns served large lunch’s that fueled us for the remainder of each day. The bikes were the best E-bikes I’ve ever ridden. This is a must do trip. We opted for the upgrade hotels and half board which was a great choice after biking all day.
