Get to know the dreamy island world of Kvarner Bay and Krk, Rab and Cres islands as well as their harbour cities, which are steeped in history. Green hills provide contrast with jagged rocks and idyllic bays, which are enticing you for a swim. By bike and boat on the MS Aria, you can discover the beauty of this region as thoroughly as you wish.
Embarkation between 11:00 and 12:00 in Rijeka. There will be a welcome by the tour guide with welcome drink and snack. In the afternoon, the ship takes you to Njivice on the island of Krk, where you start your first cycling tour. From Njivice you will cycle to Porat and back. You will spend the night in the port of Njivice.
After breakfast, you cycle from Njivice via ÄŒižići to Vrbnik. The old town is situated on a rock on the east coast – just made for souvenir photos! The area is famous for the golden-coloured Zlahtina, a wine from the surrounding vineyards. Strengthened, we head uphill to the highest point of today's stage. From here you have a magnificent view of the Baška valley, which stretches all the way to the southern end of the island. Then you will roll downhill to the harbour town of Krk. Your ship is already waiting for you there. You will spend the night in the harbour of Krk.
A short boat ride takes you to Lopar, on the northern tip of the island of Rab. You will then cycle across the island, whose landscape is very contrasting: the side facing the Adriatic Sea is lushly forested, while the side facing the mainland of Croatia is very barren. The most beautiful town on the island is Rab, your destination, which you reach already around noon. Pretty little towers adorn the old town. After lunch on board, you can explore the 1400-hectare Kalifront forest park with its holm oaks that are up to 1,000 years old. Today you will explore the island of Pag by bike and boat in Croatia. First you will sail from Rab to the northernmost tip of Lun and then get on your bike. Olive trees, lush meadows and stone landscapes accompany you to Novalja, where you take a break. Then you cycle on to Mandre to the ship. After lunch, you have the afternoon at leisure. Enjoy sunbathing on deck, discover secluded bays or try the island`s famous Pag sheep`s cheese.
The day begins in a relaxed way with a four-hour crossing to the next island: Lošinj. Enjoy the view of Croatia from the water! On the way in a bay, have a delicious lunch on board. Finally arrived, you cycle through deep green pine forests and past romantic bays. Colourful flowers accompany your cycle tour across one of the sunniest places in Europe! The highlight of the round tour is the beautiful harbour town of Veli Lošinj. Back in Mali Lošinj you have the opportunity to have dinner in one of the numerous restaurants.
Today you will not travel to the island of Cres by boat, but by bike. Both islands are connected by a bridge. You cycle from your ship to Osor, where you cross the swing bridge to the island of Cres. Your destination is the picturesque town of Cres. Around Cres there are beautiful beaches, which remind you of the Caribbean with their azure blue water. You will have enough time in the afternoon to discover them on your own. In the evening, the crew will be waiting for you with the captain`s dinner.
The last stage of your bike and boat holiday in Croatia consists of a round trip from Cres Town to the village of PredošÄ‡ica. There is a viewpoint where a magnificent view over the Adriatic Sea and the islands of Croatia awaits you. After lunch on board, your ship will drop anchor in a turquoise blue bay. Take advantage of the last bathing opportunity before you head for Rijeka.
Disembarkation takes place after breakfast until 09:00. Afterwards you start your individual journey home or transfer to the airport.
Tour character
The bike rides require a basic level of fitness, which anybody who rides a bike regularly should have. The routes can reach an altitude of about 300 metres. The daily routes cover a distance between 20 and 45 km and goes through hilly and mountainous terrain. You cycle each day without time pressure.
You can also skip a day's cycling and spend a day sunbathing on the boat instead if you wish. The roads are mostly asphalted and there is little traffic outside of holiday-periods. It is compulsory for anyone under the age of 18 to wear a helmet.

Begeisterung pur
Die upgegradete kombinierte Schiffs- und Radreise in der Kvarner Bucht war top. Das Wetter war super und die Fahrradguides haben spektakuläre Routen ausgesucht. Die anderen Mitreisenden waren auch so fasziniert von den Farben des glasklaren Wassers. Die Köchin in Ihrer Kombüse hat immer leckere drei Gänge-Menues gezaubert.

Alles perfekt
Die Kvarner Bucht mit ihren Inseln ist jedenfalls eine Reise wert. Besonders gut hat mir gefallen, dass wir uns durch die Radtouren jede einzelne Insel sozusagen erarbeitet haben. Die schönsten Blicke waren die von oben.
