The highlights of the Tuscany cycling holiday at a glance
Leonardo da Vinci: Every time you step on the pedals, you get closer to Leonardo da Vinci's house. Once in Vinci, a visit to the museum in the castle is highly recommended.
Piazza dei Miracoli: A special highlight of the bike tour is the stopover in Pisa. Because who doesn't know the famous Leaning Tower? In addition to this special spectacle, the city also has many other beauties in store!
The wine village of Castellina: The penultimate stage leads to the wine village of Castellina, where the world-famous "Chianti Classico" is grown. This enchanting wine village is also known as the "capital of the Chianti region" for its famous wines and olives.
Things worth knowing about the Classic Tuscany bike tour

Information meeting and issuance of the rental bicycles. A first walk and acquaintance with this well-known spa town presents itself. Or would you rather take the Cable Car to Montecatini Alto?
First, you drive over the wide plain of the Valdinievole valley, characterized by a lot of agriculture. Via the first Tuscan villages, the journey continues through olive groves to Vinci, the birthplace of Leonardo. The museum in the castle is a must-visit (optional), as it is home to one of the inventor's most extensive and original collections of machines and models.
The small medieval wine town of Montecarlo, which produces one of the few white wines in Tuscany, is on the road to Lucca (you can also take the train on your own). You will cycle on to Lake Massacciuccoli (also called Lake Giacomo Puccini) with a breathtaking view as far as the sea and on to Pisa with its Place of Miracles ("Piazza dei Miracoli" - Leaning Tower).
First, the route takes you along the Arno River. You will cross the many fertile fields during this ride. It continues through the hills surrounding Pisa, where wine grapes, olives and peaches thrive on the fertile slopes. Small medieval villages cling like swallow's nests to the hilltops. With these impressions, the final destination of the day, the spa town of Casciana Terme, is quickly reached.
Today the route goes through various vineyards and over rolling hills and beautiful trails to San Gimignano. Along the way, you will see landscapes of Tuscany as they can only be painted.
The beautiful Tuscan landscape on this stage makes many forget about the small slopes along the way. And when you finally arrive in Monteriggioni, you will feel like you have been thrown back to the Middle Ages. But today's highlight is undoubtedly the architectural paradise of Siena.
The bike ride leads to the heart of the vast Chianti region. Only here grows the world-famous, and appreciated among wine connoisseurs, "Chianti Classico" grape. Of course, on your way to Greve, you will pass through the enchanting wine village of Castellina. Greve is also known as the capital of the Chianti region thanks to its famous wine and olive production. From here, you will get back to Florence by public bus. The bike drop-off is in Greve.
Today your individual return journey is on the program. You can also combine this tour with the Venice-Florence or Florence-Rome route.
