Helene: World Heritage Trail Wachau
As a wine-loving guest on the World Heritage site in autumn – this is a real indulgent programme for me. Because at this time of the year everything in the wine regions along the Danube in Lower Austria revolves around the topic of wine and indulgence. Even the moderate temperatures in autumn really make you want to hike on the World Heritage Trail Wachau. Along the route you hike again and again on good vineyard trails and experience unique views of the region. From Krems, Dürnstein ‘in the vineyards’, the ‘Wachauerland’ in Weißenkirchen, Spitz an der Donau and Melk – each place offers an individual hiking experience.
Julia: Mosel- and Eifelsteig
My absolute hiking highlight is the tour on the quality hiking trail Moselsteig in central Germany. With every step away from the crowds and every minute in the open air, from Perl to Trier, I can really immerse myself in the calming nature of the region and slow down – a real oasis of active relaxation. Especially in the autumn season, a hiking holiday in Rhineland – Palatinate offers the ideal opportunity to recharge your batteries for the cooler months. That is why we at Eurohike have extended the travel season for the Mosel- and Eifelsteig, 8 days until the end of October this year.
Verena: South Tyrolean Wine & Alpine Pasture Trail
South Tyrolean enjoyment in the fifth season: when the natural landscapes dress in the warmest colours of autumn, a hiking holiday in South Tyrol becomes an incomparably beautiful experience. Where in other regions the temperatures are already starting to cool down a bit, here in northern Italy you can still enjoy the best hiking conditions. Because especially in the autumn harvest season, the vineyards and orchards promise a real spectacle of nature. One of our hiking trips combines the best of nature, culture and cuisine in a particularly harmonious way - the hiking holiday on the South Tyrolean Wine & Alpine Pasture Trail. From the enjoyable custom of ‘Törggelen’ to wonderful hikes and traditional cultural events, you can not only experience the most beautiful side of South Tyrol in autumn, but also smell and taste them. The fifth season offers the perfect conditions for distant views of Merano and its surroundings, and the mild climate guarantees ideal conditions for an all-round successful hiking tour.
Katharina: Carinthian Mountains & Lakes
For me, real happiness means a hiking holiday in the Carinthian mountains and lake regions – and preferably in the golden season. As soon as you arrive in Villach’s beautiful old town, you can feel the southern flair well into autumn and can immerse yourself in holiday enjoyment. The varied hikes around Velden and Döbriach allow you to experience the best of the region – always accompanied by the glittering lakes and autumn mountain panoramas including rustic alpine huts. Due to the mild climate in the south of Austria, we at Eurohike are providing even more hiking pleasure this autumn and are extending the active season until mid-October.
