Through the romantic ‚Zauberwald‘-forest to Lake Hintersee with its idyllic location. Surrounded by steep towering rockfaces you venture deeper and deeper into the Berchtesgaden national park, a very special ‚gem of nature‘. Across the border to Austria, where you descend on the alp-adventure path towards the valley, past the roaring waterfalls of the Seisenbergklamm-ravine all the way to Weißbach.
In the morning, a short transfer to Maria Alm. Along the Gasteiner-high-altitude path you hike across deep gorges and via diverse promenade-paths reach the thermal springs of the historic spa resort Bad Gastein.
Todays queen’s stage as part of your crossing of the Alps will make your hearts leap for joy: along an ancient bridle path, which has connected the affluent state of Salzburg with the sunny Carinthia for centuries, you will step by step discover the Hohe Tauern-national park on foot. Through unique mountain scenery you get higher and higher up to the ‚Mallnitzer Tauern‘-pass crossing located at an altitude of 2450m. Enjoy a break in the quaint hut ‚Hagener Hütte‘ before you start your descent to Mallnitz whilst still besotted by the numerous giant peaks.
Having arrived in an incredible mountain world you proceed through the Seebachtal-valley around Lake Stappitzer See, towering above you are the shimmering glaciers of Mount Ankogel. Today there are several gorges to be tackled via spectacular via ferratas and across roaring waterfalls the rushing water accompanies you all the way into the Mölltal-valley with its picturesque location, where the little national park community of Obervellach – a climatic health-resort - promises pristine recuperation.
A short bus ride headed south through the tranquil Mölltal-valley to Spittal an der Drau. The Way of St. James leads you uphill to Mount Wolfsberg, across the Millstätter-mountain ridge and past the Lake Egelsee nature reserve you proceed blissfully to the deep blue waters of Lake Millstätter See. Then always along the lakeside into today’s Day Finish, the holiday and lakeside resort Döbriach.
For the daily hiking tours with a walking time of up to 6 hours a good basic fitness level is prerequisite. You hike on varied hiking- and mountain paths, in parts also on gravel roads. Most slightly longer tours can be cut short by public transport. For some sections in the high mountains surefootedness is required. Die Tour ist abwechslungsreich, von einfach bis sehr anspruchsvoll. Die eher schwierigen Passagen sind auch die eindrucksvollsten, wie die Wanderung zur Hagener Hütte oder die Gipfeltour auf den Weltenberg. Auch die Schluchtensteige sind wunderschön und besonders an heißen Tagen auch angenehm. Viele Wege führen auf kleinen Wanderpfaden durch Waldgebiet. Die Tour hat einige Transfers per Bus und Bahn, welche teilweise selbst organisiert werden müssen. Die Transferfahrer vor Ort waren jedoch manchmal etwas schlecht über den Gepäcktransport informiert. Bei einer Unterkunft fehlte das Gepäck dann abends auch und musste vom Hotel extra nachgeholt werden (Auslieferung an falsches Hotel).

Beeindruckende Wandermomente
Ich wollte schon immer eine Alpenüberquerung machen! Und meine Erwartungen wurden dank eurer Tour mehr als übertroffen. Die verschiedenen Gebirgsketten, Landschafsbilder und Panoramablicke waren sehr beeindruckend. Die urigen Almen und die glitzernden Seen rundeten diesen Urlaub perfekt ab. Danke auch für den guten Service vor Ort und dem problemlosen Gepäcktransport. Mein Gepäck wurde jedes Mal pünkltich geliefert und ich musste mich um gar nichts kümmern. Ohne großen Balast genoss ich die täglichen Wandertouren. Eine schöne Wanderreise, die ich immer wieder buchen würde.
